Dubai, October 31, 2018 - The Dubai Government Human Resources Department and Smart Dubai held a panel discussion on the Dubai Government official recruitment platform; Dubai Careers, jointly designed and developed to meet all recruitment needs and requirements intelligently, namely job advertisement, research, recruitment and onboarding, so as to ensure full and correct use of platform and registration of all relevant procedures thereon.

His Excellency Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, along with Her Excellency Dr. Aisha bint Butti bin Bishr, Director General of the Smart Dubai Office, and a number of officials, specialists, government entities’ human resources managers and recruitment officers, took part in the panel discussion.

In this respect, His Excellency Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi affirmed that the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, in cooperation with Smart Dubai, was keen to provide a key recruitment portal, allowing job seekers to apply for desired employment opportunities through a smart and easy application, bringing together all available government vacancies and thus, encompassing all Dubai Government approved employment types, as well as other nationals, distinguished, new graduates, people of determination and volunteers-related jobs.

He added that the Dubai Government Human Resources Department seeks to make use of the Dubai Careers platform  so as to enhance its Emiratisation and recruitment-related programs and to connect job seekers with government entities, through a well thought-out design that suits them all. This aims at enhancing the Dubai Government reputation as a preferred employer and increasing the Emiratisation rates within government entities. In this respect, the Platform - while providing accurate, various fields-related data - has become a reference through which the number of job seekers, quality of jobs, qualifications and relevant experiences are identified.

His Excellency Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi also explained that the Dubai Careers platform adopts an advanced system, allowing it to find the best applicants and thus, indicate their compatibility with desired jobs, as well as to recommend a suitable family member or friend to occupy a certain, adequate position. The Platform allows easy registration, especially through LinkedIn, as well as direct access to their CV information, while making use of all LinkedIn features with respect to job displays in accordance with relevant competencies, profile and interests, and of the possibility to conduct visual interviews at the suitable time as well.

For her part, Her Excellency Dr. Aisha bint Butti bin Bishr confirmed that the cooperation with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department embodies Smart Dubai’s keenness to consolidate their partnership and work effectively with Dubai’s various government entities so as to move forward towards making Dubai the happiest and smartest city in the world, pointing out that the Dubai Careers platform has gained a significant importance given its dedicated mechanism of action, in line with the Dubai Paperless Strategy. In this respect, all of the Platform procedures are paperless, including the vacancies postings, CV submission and actual interview and recruitment stages, and are, thus, conducted electronically.

“The Dubai Careers platform is an integrated talent attraction smart system, relying on the use of the world’s most advanced systems developed in the recruitment processes and procedures automation field easily and smartly, starting with the vacancy posting, passing through all recruitment stages, and reaching the employment phase.” she said. “The Dubai Careers platform aims at reducing the time, effort and costs of attracting qualified talent, as well as automating the paperless recruitment procedures in line with the 2021 Dubai Paperless Strategy, while enhancing the efficiency of existing selection and recruitment procedures through the application of relevant best practices.” she affirmed.

Her Excellency Dr. Aisha bint Butti bin Bishr added that Smart Dubai will continue to develop, update and provide the Dubai Careers platform with the latest IT tools so as to ensure that Dubai’s private sector and government institutions are equipped with the best competencies. In this respect, the Dubai Careers platform constitutes an integral part of the required government transformation in the adopted mechanism of action, implying the attraction of talent and management of Dubai’s human resources and, thus, enabling government institutions in particular and the private sector in general to fulfill their roles in achieving Dubai’s initiatives and providing a dedicated platform that would meet all future needs and requirements over the next 10 years.

In this respect, the Dubai Careers platform provides about 1,900 job opportunities, and has received around 700,000 different employment applications from people of determination, among others. Across the Platform, the numbers of job seekers and UAE registered nationals amounted to around 175,000 and 20,000 people, respectively.

Furthermore, the average vacancy posting time amounts to approximately 5 minutes, while the new candidate registration and application period requires around 3.4 minutes. In cooperation with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, Smart Dubai has held 48 training courses for the 45 participating government entities, encompassing 500 employees who have been trained on the use of the Platform professionally, since its launch in April 2017.
