Smart Dubai Renames Its ‘Saad’ Artificial Intelligence Service ‘Rashid’ After Pioneer of Dubai’s Renaissance

Smart Dubai has renamed “Saad”, its flagship artificial intelligence (AI) service, to bear the moniker “Rashid” after His Highness the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the pioneer of Dubai’s renaissance.

The renaming will mark the 27th anniversary of HH’s passing on October 7. Sheikh Rashid achieved remarkable feats that kick-started Dubai’s great development, in addition to playing a leading role in the establishment of the Union in 1971.

Her Excellency Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director-General of the Smart Dubai Office, said: “By renaming our flagship artificial intelligence service after HH Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Smart Dubai seeks to immortalise the memory of one of the greatest figures in UAE history. HH Sheikh Rashid always looked forward to the future of our emirate, laying the foundations of the success we have achieved today. We hope our ‘Rashid’ service will reflect the aspirations of this great visionary, who always advocated for the happiness and wellbeing of his people.”

“Rashid” reflects the important and effective role of artificial intelligence in offering official and reliable answers to customers’ questions, and providing them with the necessary procedures, steps, documents, and requirements to conduct their transactions – all according to the extensive database of Dubai’s Department of Economic Development (DED).

The service is designed to be accessible to entrepreneurs, business owners, and local and foreign investors who wish to establish a business in the emirate. It can provide and analyse large volumes of information in a short period of time to instantly answer customers’ questions.

Smart Dubai used its pavilion at GITEX Technology Week 2017 – which was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre on October 8-12 – to introduce visitors to the service, as well as its latest developments.
