Emirates NBD, one of the region's leading banking groups, recently earned the title of Best Mobile Banking Experience at the 17th annual Smart Cards and Payments Middle East Awards held at the Armani Hotel Dubai.
Award nominations were reviewed from over twelve hundred companies throughout the Middle East, North African and Central and South Asia.
The Emirates NBD mobile app was selected for its outstanding service features, including mobile cheque Deposit, a first of its kind service, that allows customers to deposit cheques by submitting an image and uploading it to the app. The app also supports DirectRemit fund transfer services that provides remittances within 60 seconds to India, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Egypt and Pakistan, contributing exception value to many of the banks expatriate customers. The app’s services also include mePay, which supports peer to peer money transfer service; and Shane n' Save, which promotes savings.
The mobile app also supports biometric login and transactions, utilizing 'Smart Touch' capabilities through Apple's Touch ID and Samsung's Fingerprint. The app also includes mobile queuing services, providing customers a digital token which can be redeemed at their branch for instant transactions – removing the need to wait in line at the branch.

With a customer satisfaction rating of 4.5 stars from a possible 5 starts, the Emirates NBD's mobile banking app is ranked #1 in the UAE App Store's Finance category and has been downloaded more than 750,000 times. The app is available on all the major operating system including IOS, Android Windows and BlackBerry and is compatible for both smart phones and tablets.
EmiratesNBD also recently became the first bank to adopt the Happiness Meter. Customers are now able to rate their experiences and contribute feedback to the city’s Happiness Index. The Happiness Meter is integrated across all Emirates NBD touchpoints, including its award-winning mobile application.
