Smart Dubai Signs MOU with TRA for Smart Transformation Support

In recognition of the shared vision of Smart Dubai and the TRA (the UAE General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunication Sector), to contribute to people’s happiness through technology innovation, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between both parties this morning during the World Government Summit.

The agreement will lead to enhanced cooperation and exchanged of experiences and learning between Smart Dubai and the TRA, achieving optimum impact for residents and visitors and accelerating Dubai’s smart city vision.

The partnership will also help in shaping policies, strategic plans and initiatives concern smart technology and smart cities at the federal and local level.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Her Excellency Dr. Aisha bin Bishr said, “The Smart Dubai Office is committed to embodying a culture of collaboration across local and Federal governments, as we work together for the future of the UAE. Our long-standing partnership with the TRA is strengthened by this memorandum of understanding in support of the Dubai Data Initiative and the smart city platform, and we look forward to further collaboration across all fields of shared expertise, towards the smart and sustainable future of Dubai and the UAE and the broader region.”

“This agreement comes in the framework of the efforts exerted to strengthen the national collaborative efforts between various national and federal entities with the aim of fostering the comprehensive integration. The agreement also reflects both parties’ endeavor to cooperate in achieving the 2021 objectives. It also comes as a part of the immense efforts exerted by TRA to support the smart transformation and ICT development in the UAE,” said His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansori, Director General of the TRA.

Partnerships across all sector at the local and federal level are essential to achieving the vision Smart Dubai, to make Dubai the happiest city on earth.
