July 2017 is set to be an exciting time for transport in the UAE, with the first deliveries of Tesla vehicles, and the even more exciting launch of the Road Transport Authority’s Autonomous Aerial Vehicles (AAV).

The AAV’s are capable of taking a single passenger to the air. No driving license is required on part of the passenger, as the AAV only requires the passenger to select the destination on a touchscreen within the vehicle. Once selected, the aerial vehicle automatically takes off , flies to the selected destination and finally descends and lands on a specific space. The entire operation will be monitored by RTA’s central control center, capable of managing the flight virtually.
