However, the winner of Foodbytes! 2016 was ‘Imperfect Produce’, who tackle the wastage of fruits and vegetables that are disposed of by farmers in the US because they don’t meet retail cosmetic standards. By working with farmers to deliver directly to households and offices, ‘Imperfect Produce’ sell at 30-50% less cost, and are responsible for saving tons of produce that would have otherwise been wasted.
