There is change afoot for the local shipping & logistics industry in Dubai.

Online-shoppers from fashionistas to gamers to event-goers have been treated to delightful, seamless, on-demand delivery experiences in recent months, courtesy of Fetchr, a new logistics company that is reimagining retail and peer-to-peer delivery within the UAE.

Founded by Idriss Al Rifai and Joy Aljouny, Arab entrepreneurs who first met at a funding event in Silicon Valley, Fetch’r is reshaping the logistics lifecycle end-to-end, with a focus on customer-centric experiences.

Users — whether individuals, businesses or retailers — can arrange shipments through a 3-step process to schedule pick-up and delivery locations; timings and payment instructions. Utilising GPS technology enabling precision location details, users are also able to track deliveries in progress, removing the guesswork and uncertainty that characterised traditional services.

Service delivery start-ups such as Fletchr are popping up across the city, utilising smart connected technology to overhaul traditional networks, contributing to Dubai’s smart economy and making daily life more seamless and efficient for businesses, customers and friends.

The Fetchr app is available to all users in the UAE. Rates are AED 30 for any package up to 3kg and AED 50 for any package up to 12kg for delivery across the UAE. B2C rates are based on volume, weight and distance to enhance competitiveness.
