UBER & Emirates NBD partner up for free rides this Ramadan

During the holy month of Ramadan you are bound to witness a lot of hustle bustle in the city, primarily between 3pm and 5pm or between 9pm and 12am: people hurrying home to break their fast at Iftar, going to the local mosque for evening prayers or visiting a friend for a late evening gathering over Suhoor. And for the majority of families and individuals in Dubai, all of these trips mean more time spent driving or on the roads.

Globally renowned taxi company Uber, one of two leading on-demand ride services in the city, has partnered with Dubai’s largest bank, Emirates NBD, to ensure that wherever you plan to travel within the UAE over the weekend, you not only reach safe, but at no cost at all.

As the offer is valid only for Emirates NBD credit card holders, to take advantage of this offer right away simply use your Emirates NBD credit card as the preferred payment method on the Uber app and enter the promo code “ENBDUBER”. Along with the various options such as “UberSELECT”, “UberBLACK”, “UberVIP” and the much gossiped about “UberCHOPPER”, you will now see an “ENBD” option on the app’s selection slider. Use the ENBD option from Thursday to Saturday between 6pm and 9pm and your free ride will be with you within minutes.

As the offer is targeted for short distances aimed at people wanting to visit friends and relatives or go for prayers to the neighbourhood mosque, the maximum value you can avail per ride is AED 40, or approximately 20 kilometres in normal traffic.

The cost and time savings that spur from such partnerships launched by the private sector is a great example of how two industries can come together for to offer more convenience the citys’ residents. As more entities adopt such impactful ways to enhance experiences for their customers, we can look forward to a happier Dubai contributing to the overarching vision or Smart Dubai.
